Murder Mystery a Resounding Success!

Was it a crime of passion? Could it have been a burglary gone wrong? Might it have been bad business?

These were the questions posed to visitors at Humber’s Centre for Justice Leadership this spring for Doors Open 2016. During this interactive event, our guests were invited to explore and examine a mock crime scene, view the evidence, learned about the suspects, and try to solve a mock crime to earn some Humber swag. They were afforded an opportunity to come behind the yellow police tape and journey into the fascinating world of forensics. Participants enjoyed a behind-the-scenes look at our Crime Scene Simulation Lab and Forensic Studio.

Once the verdict was read in our mock Court of Justice, guests were invited to embark on a Lakeshore Campus Tunnel Tour to learn about Humber’s extensive tunnel system and the history of the Cottages. On event day the Humber Arts Commons and L Space Gallery were open to the public as well.

A huge shout-out of appreciation to students Nicole Celep, Luisa Villa Gomez, Amanda Le Blanc, Kayla Cribari, Jason Gool, Cassandra Mudry, Julianna Krusky, Meghan Ferguson, and Melissa Conners for helping to ensure that the murder mystery was an engaging and informative experience for the 200 amateur sleuths who participated. You continue to do Humber proud!

Special thanks to staff members Elizabeth Sheridan and Kavelle Deonanan as well. Your contributions to the success of this event cannot be overstated!
