As soon as I finished the Humber Behavioural Science program, I had an opportunity in Vancouver to work for one of their school districts as an Autism Support Worker. Within half a year I switched positions to working as a Behavioural Support Worker. As a Behavioural Support Worker my job entails behavioural intervention strategies, anger management/conflict resolution techniques, and situational safety assessments.
As a student at Humber College taking this program enabled me to have the skills to work with my students. I am also in the process of finishing my degree within the year and getting ready to take my exam for the BCaBA. In 6 months I will be relocating to the states for another opportunity within my field. Taking the behavioural science program opened many doors for me not only in Canada but also internationally; it has also enabled me to pursue higher education.
