As I navigated my way through the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Certificate program, I began to see a whole new way of working unfold. Recovery based, person centred; as a staff in the mental health field I do not need to know all the answers...I simply work in conjunction with someone through their process. The more I applied this theory, the more people thrived, felt heard and became a huge part of their own successes. That was ten years ago. As I continued to work front line from a PSR based perspective, my skills expanded and I eventually stepped into the role of a manager. Most recently I became an instructor of the PSR program. When faced with new challenges and learning opportunities, I continue to base my work following the PSR principles I learned so many years ago.
